Welcome to Wheeldale Woolcrafts suppliers of natural and hand dyed spinning and felting fibres. I am redesigning my website so please bookmark it to visit later to see project ideas for spinning, felting and weaving. New porducts in the e-shop: hand dyed knitting wool and hand dyed mohair yarn, felt embellishment packs and hand dyed Teeswater fleece. We are located high up in one of England's most beautiful National Parks, the North Yorkshire Moors. Just two miles from Goathland, we are deep in what is now more affectionately known as heartbeat country. What makes me so distinctive is that all of my products are British some are sourced locally, from my flock of sheep outside Wheeldale's woolcraft studio. I stock British tops and rovings (Shetland wool and Blue Faced Leicester wool) for spinning and feltmaking. I have a new online shop, and can now take orders online or by phone between 8am and 10pm. When I was 16, I saw a book on spinning in a second-hand shop in Helmsley. I didn't buy it, and regretted it ever since! I have never seen that particular book again. About a year later I persuaded my parents to pay for me to go on a spinning course and I have been 'hooked' ever since. Curiosity led me to explore natural dyeing, felt making and weaving. As my knowledge and interest grew, I set up my own workshops and Wheeldale Woolcrafts evolved from there. I have turned my hobby into my business, I enjoy all aspects of woolcraft, and would like to share this wonderful world with you.
