Wheeldale Woolcrafts offers a range of woolly workshops, we can also offer workshops in school, talks to groups, and displays/activities at events and living history events. Please contact us for further information. romanwheeldale@yahoo.co.uk
There are a maximum of eight places on our friendly craft courses in North Yorkshire. Workshops include refreshments and materials. Extra materails are available to purchase after your course. Please phone or email for more information or to book your place.
We offer workshops on demand, prices are per person whether you participate in a group course or one to one tutition please contact us to arrange a date and time.
Courses are held at Wayside, Marton, Sinnington, York, YO62 6RD.

You will need to bring three old towels and two plastic carrier bags on all felt making courses.
Beginning Feltmaking. 1pm-4pm. Learn the basic techniques of felt making and take home your felted pieces. £15 per person.

3D Feltmaking. 12.30pm-4.30pm
Learn the secrets of making seamless three dimensional felt. Create a bag and purse, a felt vessel or a pair of baby bootees using the three dimensional felt making technique. £35 per person.

Nuno Feltmaking. 12.30pm-4.30pm.
Learn how combine wool and chiffon to make abeautiful scarf £35 per person.

Design and make your own felt rug. £55 per person.

Learn how to create needle felted creatures and whimsies. £19 per person.

Make a Fleece Rug/Peg Loom Weaving. 12.30pm-4.30pm
Weave your own fleece cushion cover/rug using a peg loom £29 per person.

Rag Rug Making. 1-4pm
learn how to use old woollen cloth to create stunning clippy rugs. £15 per person.

Spinning. 12.30pm-4.30pm
Come and create your own handspun yarns, using one of our spinning wheels. On the spinning wheel learn how to spin fleece and roving and how to ply yarn. At the end of the day you will have your first skein of handspun yarn to take home with you. £29 per person.

Preparing wool for spinning. 1pm-4pm
Learn how to wash a fleece and how to card and blend wool using hand carders, flick carders and a drum carder. £29 per person.
Learn to dye wool and cotton with indigo. 1pm-4pm £30 per person.
Learn the ancient craft of natural dyeing using plants and take home your dyed wool and fleece. The course includes mordanting wool, choosing hedgrow and garden plants for dyeing, preparing wool and plant matter for dyeing. £30 per person.
