About Us

Wheeldale Woolcrafts is a wool supplier and processor based in North Yorkshire. We have 10 years experience of spinning, felt making and dyeing and use our skills to produce a wide range of hand dyed wool tops, crafts kits and gifts.
Wheeldale Woolcrafts is named after a remote valley in North Yorkshire where Phillippa established the business. We aim to as environmentally friendly as possible, since having started the business in a location where there was no mains water or electricity we are very good at being economical with them. We are passionate about the environment from the wildlife in our garden and paddock to minimising the packaging used in our products.
Phillippa specialises in dyeing British wool using both normal dyes and natural dyes to produce a wide range of colours and effects on different wools. All our coloured wools are had dyed in our dye studio taking inspiration for colours from the landscapes around North Yorkshire.
We stock a wide range of British wool tops often from rare breed sheep and process some of our fibres from the fleece to the batt ourselves. Some of the fibres are produced by our own small flock of sheep who all have names and are kept for their fleeces.
The list of our products is long but all have been created with love in our workshop. Our products include felt making kits, weaving kits, rag rug kits, wool tops, wool yarn, handspun yarn, craft packs, dyed wool tops, handmade gifts and accessories.
